Identify a Cassowary
Cassowaries are like people, they are easily recognizable, but to identify a cassowary, you do need to know what to look for. As a result of the interest in the recent workshop conducted by Kuranda Conservation, a new page CASSOWARY IDENTIFICATION has been added to the SAVE THE CASSOWARY menu which shows how to identify a cassowary. The birds pictured are all from the Kuranda region, so if you see a bird and especially if you are able to photograph it, you can provide much information about the territories of particular birds for example, and much more. Not enough is known about the cassowary, research is ongoing, and every contribution made to the body of knowledge is valuable.
